Sandra Marsh

Sandra Marsh is a veteran teacher embarking on 30 years of teaching diverse learners. She is compassionate about teaching, with the belief that all students can learn. A teacher’s infectious positivity is one of the keys to a child’s educational perseverance. If a child truly believes that his teacher cares, he will strive to do his best. Witnessing a child develop an insatiable love for learning and succeeding is contagious, which is most evident in one of her early teaching assignments in Jefferson County Schools, where Marsh was one of the recipients of Florida Writes “Greatest Gain in the State Award,” where she was instrumental in leading the school from low performing to proficient. This was the catalyst that shaped her teaching philosophy.

Sandra Marsh’s educational experiences have been a devoted journey in a variety of educational settings in Jefferson County, FL., Leon County, FL; but most of her teaching experiences have been in her hometown of Santa Rosa County, Milton, FL. For the past three decades, she has taught middle school Language Arts, high school English and Intensive Language Arts, collegiate level: College Prep English/Reading, Education and Diversity courses, and currently serves as an Inclusion teacher at East Milton Elementary. Although she has taught on many levels, most of her secondary teaching career has focused on struggling learners who needed “extra care” to move to the next level. With an embedded belief, “Teach each student like he is my own child” is a testament that “every child can learn.

Sandra Marsh earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Florida State University; and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction from The University of West Florida. She obtained her certification from the Florida Department of Education in English and Exceptional Student Education as well as endorsements in English Speakers of Other Languages and Reading.
