Mrs. Barlow attended East Milton Elementary School as a child and is a graduate from Milton High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Florida as well has her master’s in educational leadership/Instructional Technology. Mrs. Barlow is passionate about early education and believes that fostering a love of reading early in a child’s life is key to their success in school and life.

During her tenure in Santa Rosa County over the past 26 years, Mrs. Barlow has served as a classroom teacher, Early Academic Intervention Specialist, and currently she is the Library Media Specialist at East Milton Elementary School. Prior to teaching at East Milton Elementary School Mrs. Barlow served at Pea Ridge Elementary for 19 of her 26 years of teaching where she was recognized as their Teacher of the Year in 2010 as well as a Santa Rosa County Teacher of the Year Finalist. She was also named Elementary Reading Teacher of the Year for Santa Rosa County in 2013 and selected as East Milton Elementary’s Teacher of the Year for 2024.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Barlow is a devoted wife to Steve Barlow for 28 years and a proud parent of two sons and one daughter, all of whom are on their way to obtaining their four-year college degrees by May 2025. Her family values and unwavering belief in the transformative power of education are evident in every aspect of her life.
